Midvale Heights is a pedestrian and bike-friendly neighborhood on the near west side of Madison. Midvale Heights is roughly bounded by Mineral Point Rd. on the north, Odana Rd. on the south, Midvale Blvd. on the east, and Whitney Way on the west. On the east side of the neighborhood, residents can bike or walk to Sequoya Commons, which features the Sequoya Branch of the Madison Public Library System; an EVP Coffee shop; Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream; and Luigi's Pizzeria - home to some of the best pizza in Madison. Sequoya Commons also features a nice selection of newer apartments and condos. One newer feature on the east side of the neighborhood is "Food Cart Tuesdays," where local vendors converge upon the neighborhood along Midvale Blvd to serve up an evening of casual dining. On the west side of the subdivision is Westgate Mall, which offers two large grocery stores and a nice variety of specialty shops and restaurants.
The homes in Midvale Heights are conveniently located near the scenic Odana Hills Golf Course and 4 public parks: Odana School Park, Piper Park, William Slater Park and Segoe Park. Many families also enjoy quality time together at the Midvale Elementary School playground.
This subdivision offers a prime location for biking enthusiasts. The Southwest Commuter Bike Path provides a direct connection to the University of Wisconsin campus and Downtown Madison to the east, as well as many miles of biking trails to the south.
Midvale Heights properties are zoned to the Madison West High School attendance area. Depending on location, children attend either Van Hise Elementary or the Midvale/Lincoln sister schools.
